We thought it would be an interesting idea to give everyone a look inside the Orange Alert Reading Series and The Whistler. Tim Hall set up a camera and we now have a unique perspective on the reading that took place last Sunday. There is a fourth video of Scott McCalanahan that will be released next week. The reading series was also highlighted in an article yesterday at Newcity Lit. Our next reading is August 16th will feature Sam Pink, Margaret Chapman, and more.

Orange Alert is now home to the latest Literary Death Match Champion! In a thrilling duel Jill Summers beat out Bobby Bierdrzycki (2nd Story). Jill read a hilarious piece outlining the ten steps to becoming a pimp. She was first matched up against Brian Costello (RUI), and won the final round in a duel of long division. The event was fund raiser for Young Chicago Authors.
