Fresh Squeezed: Pree
May Tabol (formerly of Le Loup) is the compelling and often off-kilter lead singer of Pree. The music she creates with Chris Dewitt, David Barker, and Vanessa Degrassi sets a mood that is dark yet enticing. Her vocals have been compared to Joanna Newsom and Modest Mouse, and it clear they are magical and unique in their fluncuations. She is rythmic in the way her vocals move with the dancing folk-pop melodies behind her.
Pree's debut EP, A Chopping Block focuses on the way we tend to handle relationships, the walls we build and lengths we go to keep people at a certain distance. It speaks to humanity and conflicts that we bring on ourselves. The five song EP is out officially on March 24th on Washington DC's Kora Records.
