Chris Connelly "How This Ends"

"The bloodflow moves like jagged ants in the strobe of the conflicted sunset."

How This Ends is an epic poem written by author/musician Chris Connelly. For me, it is a deep and dark look at what the end times might look like. It's a look through the the pen of a man that has spent time in bands like The Revolting Cocks and Ministry. It's a look by someone who clearly feels we are on a path to destruction.

"Bodies under the bridge trying to generate magic hoping and loping from rubble to dismal paradise, post war architecture, yellow stained, cold and wet from piss and spilled solvent."

He doesn't say what caused humanity to tip, but defines each moment of the tipping, tearing, killing, and dying in detail. The poem is set with in wild and impulsive music with the help of an impressive group of musicians. The line-up includes Izi Coonagh (Sugar Bullet), Tania Bowers (Via Tania), James Marlon Magas (Magas, Lake of Dracula), Gordon Sharp (Cindytalk), Zak Boerger (These Wonderful Evils), Bill Rieflin (R.E.M., Ministry, Swans), Brent Gutzeit (TV Pow), Sanford Parker (Minsk, The High Confessions), and David Levine (Mucca Pazza). The album they produced spans fifty minutes, but has been split into just two tracks. The poem is spoken and sung through by various members of the ensemble. Musically, the album spans everything from free jazz to spastic thrashing industrial and contains nearly every noise in between.

How This Ends will be released by Lens Records on July 13th.
