The Moon is Made of Cheese... by Snacki (Parking Block Press, May 2010)

The latest chapbook from the independant art book publisher Parking Block Press is a beautifully drawn collection of some of life's most ironic truths. The Moon is Made of Cheese... by Snacki contains nine (ten if you include the cover) drawings or illustrations that bring thruths like "Sharks can't stop swimming or they'll die..." or "Your eyes and nose... Never stop growing..." to life. Filled with what looks like spray paint of yellow, faint brown and blue, spots and dots, these drawings are fun and fascinating.

All of the words hand drawn working them into the artistic nature of each piece. Snacki is an artist filled with facts and is not afraid to look at the lighter side of life. You may be familiar with the work of Snacki and not even realize it. Snacki has been leaving a mark on the walls of Chicago for a while now and has even received press from Windy Citizen and Chicago Art Magazine.

This month marks the one year aniverary Parking Block. The small press has spent that year craft a solid and well deserved repuation in the zine world. This zine combined with their other new title SF-11, a collection of photos by Isaac McKay-Randozzi, are two of the finest they have produced. The Moon is Made of Cheese... was printed in an edition of 100 and is available here for just $4.
