Eels "End Times" (Vagrant, 1/19/10)

"In The Beginning": A long time fan of E and what he has done with Eels... excited to hear this his 10th studio album.

"Gone Man": Pure 60's groove, a song of lost love with a funky rhythm.

"In My Younger Days": How old is E? Atmospherics as he yearns for youth.

"Mansions of Los Feliz": So far the album is much more stripped down then many Eels albums. A reference to burning flesh...

"A Line in the Dirt": Returning to a gentler sound. This album is really return to a per Eels sound (i.e. Broken Toy Shop.

"End Times": He's talking to cats and had lost all sense of feeling. He is the crazy bearded man.

"Apple Trees": A 40 second statement that speaks volumes about our mental state.

"Paradise Blues": This song goes out to the would be Christmas bomber. Blast it as you explode!

"Nowadays": E's no challenging Moz for the title of saddest man alive.

"Unhinged": A raucous break-up song... tambourine and electric guitar "crazy eyes".

"High & Lonesome": A knock on the door, thunderstorm, a busy signal, and silence.

"I Need A Mother": Moving from bitter to angry to lonely to sad and back.

"Little Bird": This is E's great break-up (divorce actually) album and in that way it feel very raw and honest.

"On My Feet": He end's on what feels like the only positive vibe he has left in him.
