6th Annual Meeting of Styles: Chicago 2009 - Sept 18th to 20th

This weekend over 200 graffiti artists from Chicago and The World collaborating on more than a dozen walls in the Little Village neighborhood of Southwest Chicago! Zore, Knomadz and SB again are hosting the event presenting you Deluxe-Art on walls and canvases. Additionally Babelgum brings you clips of the movie “Bomb It” (online full movie premiere Sept. 15th). The event is a part of the Meeting of Styles Series and promises to have actives and events that brighten the walls and minds of the Southside residents. New Work from Anna Jóelsdóttir - Table Art Center - Eastern Illinois University

Anna Jóelsdóttir's new installation is on view 8/29-10/9/09 at the Tarble Art Center, Eastern IL Univ. Anna's work combines vibrant colors and wild lines and structures. She is combing She is was of the frequent artists at Chicago's Zg Gallert, but this month she finds herself at Eastern Illinois University. Her work is fascinating as gives a unique perspective on th structures we build and their temporal nature. Going up in Iceland and in somewhat of an isolated environment (or at least isolated to our standards today)she relied of literature to build her internal visual world. She typically creates amazing intricate installation and I am sure she will not disappoint at Eastern.
