Fresh Squeezed: Black Moth Super Rainbow

The new album, Eating Us, from Pittsburgh's Black Moth Super Rainbow is not set to be released by Chicago's Graveface Records until May 23, but the excitement is already building. To see quotes that this will be the bands "break out" year seems somewhat insulting, but I suppose the band could take their sound and careers to another level. Fans can reserve a Limited-Edition (2,000 copies) Deluxe Version Of 'Eating Us' now, and that edition will include a 16-page art booklet and hairy summer jewel case jacket. The sounds of BMSR (The Seven Fields of Aphelion, Power Pill Fist, D.Kyler, Father Hummingbird, Tobacco, and Ryan Graveface) is perfect for a May release, but if you can wait the band is releasing a special single from Eating Us in honor of Record Store Day. Their sound has always soared into a scorching sun, and this single is no exception. "Born On A Day The Sun Didn't Rise" Side A is the album version, and Side B is a soft, stripped-down version recorded with a banjo and sticky electro beats, showcasing the before and after entailed in recording their first studio album with acclaimed producer Dave Fridmann (The Flaming Lips, MGMT, Weezer) at Tarbox Road Studios. What I like is this 7" vinyl release is bright orange, but it is limited to 500 copies. Look for it at one of the offical Record Store Day venues.
